Frank Layden, the first coach to take the Utah Jazz to the playoffs and the winner of both the 1984 NBA Coach of the Year and Executive of the Year awards, died Wednesday at 93, the team announced. Layden coached six full seasons and parts of two others early in the franchise's Utah history.
