The Los Angeles Police Department arrested hundreds of protesters over the last week during nightly demonstrations against the Trump administration’s intensifying efforts to deport people living illegally in the U.

ICE activity in downtown Los Angeles was part of an effort to serve warrants at a business believed to be involved in a slew of cross-border crimes.

Republicans and Democrats on Capitol Hill and across the country remain divided following protests against Trump's deportation policies.

The arrest was made after a traffic stop in La Grange. As demonstrations are under way in Austin, DPS says there is no additional active threat.
