During his time at Ohio State, Carter was a consensus All-American in 1986 and was named a two-time First-Team All-Big Ten twice in his college career.

"It really doesn't matter who is the quarterback," Smith said this week at Big Ten Media Days.

"You know it's not a real win if y'all ain't beat us. I'm gonna congratulate them on their win, but this year, it's gonna be different."
