US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Susan Monarez vowed to rebuild trust with the American public after the agency was the target of a deadly shooting last week, but some staff were frustrated that she didn’t offer more information on safety.

Documents found in a search of the home where Patrick Joseph White lived with his parents “expressed the shooter’s discontent with the COVID-19 vaccinations,” authorities said.

Following the deadly shooting outside the CDC headquarters in Atlanta on Friday, some workers are now calling for better protections. One police officer was killed when a gunman with anti-vaccine views opened fire.
