Three people died Monday night in a fire at a home on Locust Park that left two other people hospitalized, police said early Tuesday. Firefighters and police arrived at the home at 7:56 p.m. Monday to find the house in flames and learn several people were trapped inside.

The Colonie Fire Chief Jeff Kayser confirmed that he believes the residence may have been a hoarding situation, which made it more challenging to fight the fire.
