There's been talk of another spectacular comet putting on a show in our sky after Tsuchinshan-ATLAS. Unfortunately, however, it doesn't look like the newcomer will deliver.
Rare comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS brightens night skies in October: Here's how to watch it
Comet Tsuchinshan-Atlas is named for the observatories in China and South Africa that spied it. The comet originates from the Oort Cloud, well beyond Pluto, and will make the closest approach of about 44 million miles (71 million kilometres) of Earth.
How to See the Bright Comet Tsuchinshan-Atlas This Weekend
To get the best view of the comet, go outside about an hour after sunset and look west. The comet should be visible from the northern and southern hemispheres. While you can see the comet with the naked eye, binoculars and telescopes will give you a better view of it.
