The mom of Steelers first round pick Derrick Harmon has died, the team confirmed to KDKA-TV on Friday. The Oregon defensive tackle was drafted by the Steelers on Thursday. But it was a bittersweet victory because as his name was called, his mom was on life support. He said he was going to visit her afterward to share the good news.

The Steelers drafted Oregon defensive tackle Derrick Harmon with the 21st overall pick. Harmon then went to the hospital to share the news with his mother, Tiffany Saine, who was on life support. The Steelers confirmed Friday night that Saine died shortly after Harmon arrived.
