Dirt Cheap stores to close after parent company files for bankruptcy
(NEXSTAR) – Dirt Cheap, a chain of “extreme value” stores with 60-plus locations across the Southeast, has filed for bankruptcy, court documents indicate. The store’s parent company filed documents with the District of Delaware last week.

Dirt Cheap, a discount chain founded in Hattiesburg, is closing. The store's parent company, Channel Control Merchants, has filed for bankruptcy. The company, which owns Dirt Cheap, Treasure Hunt and Dirt Cheap Building Supplies, is headquartered in Hattiesburg, but filed bankruptcy papers in the District of Delaware.

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WTVA) — Popular discount store Dirt Cheap is going out of business. The chain’s parent company filed for bankruptcy and all locations will hold store closing sales, according to court filings. WTVA visited the store in Amory on Monday morning, Oct. 14 and saw a sign advertising the store’s closure.
