IKEA on Monday announced plans to open a new store in Huntsville in early 2026, its the first full-size store in Alabama. It will be located at the University Place Shopping Center at 6125 University Place Dr. in Huntsville.

The big picture: Small format or not, Huntsville's IKEA will still offer its beloved meatballs and hot dogs (and their veggie/vegan counterparts), as well as cinnamon buns and more, both in-store and to take home.
