A new poll shows support for Israel’s military action in Gaza has dropped among U.S. adults, with only about one-third approving.

The president has in recent days acknowledged there is “starvation” in Gaza, a break with Israeli officials who have faced deep criticism over the humanitarian crisis there.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump said Tuesday that the U.S. will partner with Israel to run new food centers in Gaza to address the worsening humanitarian crisis there, but he and U.S. officials offered few additional details about the plan or how it would differ from existing food distribution centers.

A n Israeli settler shot dead a Palestinian teacher who helped film Oscar-winning documentary No Other Land, the Palestinian education ministry and one of the film's directors said. The ministry said Odeh Hathaleen was shot during a settler attack on Umm Al-Khair village in the occupied West Bank.

The Palestinian death toll in Gaza has passed 60,000. The world’s leading authority on food crises says the “worst-case scenario of famine is currently playing out” in the territory of over 2 million people.

Israeli strikes killed at least 78 Palestinians in multiple locations across Gaza on Monday, local health officials said, a day after Israel eased aid restrictions in the face of a worsening humanitarian crisis in the territory.
