Two-time defending champion Jessica Pegula was eliminated in the third round of the National Bank Open after a 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 loss to Anastasija Sevastova on Friday.

Jessica Pegula, the two-time defending champion at the National Bank Open, was upset 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 by Anastasija Sevastova, while Naomi Osaka cruised into the fourth round.

Anastasija Sevastova defeated defending champion Jessica Pegula 3–6, 6–4, 6–1 and set up a clash with four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka.
