Manchester United and Scotland legend Denis Law has passed away at the age of 84, his family confirmed on Friday evening.

Denis Law dies aged 84; Law began his career at Huddersfield and played for Manchester City and Torino but made his name at Manchester United where he won the league title in 1965 and the European Cup in 1968;

The club said in a statement: "Everyone at Manchester United is mourning the loss of Denis Law, the King of the Stretford End, who has passed away, aged 84. Our deepest condolences go out to Denis's family and many friends. His memory will live on forever more."
