The much-anticipated Adidas design for the Mexican National Team has stirred up quite the buzz, especially due to its inspiration from the iconic France 1998 jersey, which hasn't quite hit the mark with fans.

Willy Chavarria, the designer of the shoe, also apologized after Mexican officials leveled accusations of cultural appropriation.

Critics in Mexico argued that the shoe uses the name of the southern Mexican state, a major manufacturer of the traditional leather sandals, while Chavarria's design is manufactured in China and Indigenous artisans received no credit or benefit from the multinational firm.
