Blake Perkins hit his first two home runs of the season and drove in three runs, and the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Washington Nationals 16-9.

The Brewers are 64-44 and looking to bounce back from a 10-3 loss to the Chicago Cubs that halted a three-game winning streak. Left fielder Christian Yelich, the team’s leader in homers and RBI, is coming off an 0-3 performance with two strikeouts. They sit atop the NL Central, but the Cubs are only one game back.

A CJ Abrams leadoff double and two-out Luis Garcia Jr. two-strike RBI single produced the first run of the game in the bottom of the first, but Blake Perkins promptly got it back. The Brewers center fielder got a 1-2 mistake from Parker and sent it out to the first row of the left-field seats for his first home run of the season.
