The Monkey, Osgood Perkins's highly-anticipated adaptation of Stephen King's short story, is being released soon, and King shared his thoughts.

The Monkey, the upcoming Stephen King adaptation from Longlegs writer-director Osgood Perkins, has already received some positive reviews from critics online, but now the Master of Horror himself has weighed in.

Social media reactions to early screenings of the bombastic new horror comedy arrived earlier this month, but Stephen King has now added his voice to the chorus of praise. The author has seen the movie, and in posting his critique to Threads, he has revealed that he is enamored with how off-the-walls it is. King wrote,

Written and directed by Longlegs helmer Osgood Perkins and adapted from King's short story of the same name, The Monkey follows twin brothers Hal and Bill (both played by Theo James), who witnessed a string of horrifying deaths as children after discovering their father's toy monkey in the attic.

[The Monkey] is a bloody blast. A big shift away from the feel of Longlegs, the movie is a full on horror-comedy with Osgood Perkins having a ton of fun going into Final Destination territory with one crazy-gory-twisted death after another.
