The FIA has upheld its position on the Red Bull controversy in Austin, resolving concerns about a device that could alter ride height.

Red Bull say that they have made changes to their F1 car as a result of discussions with governing body the FIA.

Formula One champions Red Bull have made changes to their car after discussions with the governing FIA, the team said on Thursday. The news came after the FIA issued a statement in response to concern from some teams about a possible exploitation of rules restricting work on a car between the start of qualifying and the race.

Red Bull has strongly criticised the FIA over inconsistencies in its regulation enforcement, calling for clearer interpretations and more accurate measurement methods.

As far as Max Verstappen is concerned, nothing will change because of the modification Red Bull Racing made to the RB20 after talks with the FIA. The Dutchman stressed that the part in question was just a simple tool and initially did not even realise that the coverage was about Red Bull's Formula 1 car.

With six grands prix to go, Max 
Verstappen remains the championship leader. He is 52 points ahead of Lando Norris but the Dutchman has not won since June’s Spanish GP. Lando, meanwhile, has momentum on his side having won the last race in Singapore from pole.
