Metaphor: ReFantazio developers would like to make a sequel, with the hopes of the IP becoming a flagship RPG series for Atlus.

Persona director Katsura Hashino has hinted at Metaphor: ReFantazio getting a sequel and becoming the latest franchise for developer Atlus. Over the years, the studio has spun the Shin Megami Tensei series into the even more popular Persona series, and took the mechanics from that and created its fastest-selling game ever with Metaphor.

Metaphor: ReFantazio's success demands a sequel after receiving critical acclaim, record-breaking sales, and Game Awards wins. A sequel to Metaphor: ReFantazio appears almost inevitable given its success and potential to become a defining franchise for Atlus.
