During a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing on Tuesday, Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) confronted former National Security Advisor Mike Waltz about Signalgate.
The former Trump national security adviser will be peppered with questions about Signal in his confirmation hearing for United Nations ambassador.
The confirmation hearing is set to drudge up the past, as Democrats prepare to pepper Waltz on the scandal that led to his removal as national security adviser.
Sen. Cory Booker, D-NJ, criticized Waltz’s inability to take accountability. Booker said Waltz “denied” and “deflected” rather than own up to his mistakes, something the New Jersey senator said is a “failure of leadership.” He called Waltz’s actions a show of “profound cowardice.”
Eddie Pool told lawmakers it is “highly unlikely” the agency’s IT office would need to rehire employees who left through deferred resignation or early retirement.
