Southeastern Colorado faces a high risk of severe storms with possible tornadoes and large hail on Friday. DENVER — Friday will be another day with a risk for widespread stronger storms, especially across southeastern Colorado where tornadoes and large hail are likely.

Stormchaser, Billy, captured this insane footage of dark clouds forming a tornado in New Raymer, Colorado. A brief tornado touched down near New Raymer in northeastern Colorado on Tuesday, causing significant damage to a barn but no reported injuries.

A tornado warning is in effect in Logan County. A funnel was spotted by a weather spotter 12 miles west of Sterling, according to the National Weather Service.

Colorado averages close to 50 tornadoes per year, with a peak in June. Unlike the vast majority of the U.S., a significant number of tornadoes are landspouts, which form differently to other tornadoes

After an active weather week that involved tornadoes on Friday, another tornado reportedly touched down in Colorado on Tuesday.
