President Donald Trump has signed an executive order ending the Syria sanctions program. The administration describes it as a way to support the country’s path to peace and stability.

US Treasury says it removed 518 Syrian individuals and entities from its list of sanctions after president’s decree.

The Trump administration is moving forward with support for the new Syrian government. A significant part of that initiative involves sanctions relief and giving Syria the chance to be invested in and rebuild after 14 years of civil war.
