The aurora was the result of a massive solar flare, the strongest since 2017, that the sun unleashed late last week.

There was no shortage of breathtaking views in early October in the northern part of the Midwest as multiple people were able to capture photos of the Northern Lights. Viewers from across northeast Wisconsin and even the Upper Peninsula in Michigan sent photos of the northern lights.

Tony Finau has a good excuse. Finau will be in Frisco, Texas, with 12-year-old son Jraice as Team Utah competes in the 13U PGA Junior League Championship. Finau said he was “under quite a bit of pressure” to play and he plans to be at the Black Desert Championship in the years to come.

The sports offerings in the state of Utah keep growing. Salt Lake City was awarded the 2034 Winter Olympics earlier this year. The team formerly known as the Arizona Coyotes relocated to the city and temporarily rebranded as the Utah Hockey Club,
