MUNICH (AP) — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Saturday that the time has come for the creation of an “armed forces of Europe,” because the US may no longer be counted on to support the continent.

Volodymyr Zelensky has called for the creation of an “army of Europe”, suggesting the continent could not rely on Donald Trump’s United States for its defence. The president of Ukraine warned “America might say no to Europe on issues that threaten it” because “the old days are over”.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky championed the idea Saturday of creating a European military force, in order to ensure the rest of the world does not treat it like a "pushover."
