The deals are signed and the Lions have officially announced that Morton and Sheppard will replace Johnson and Glenn, ushering in a new era for the franchise.

The Detroit Lions appear to be preparing for the loss of pass game coordinator Tanner Engstrand, who is the lead candidate to become the New York Jets’ next offensive coordinator. According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero,

The Lions are promoted linebackers coach Kelvin Sheppard to defensive coordinator. Sheppard, 37, joined Dan Campbell’s initial Lions staff as outside linebackers coach in 2021 and has overseen the entire unit the past three seasons.
