Finland winger Katariina Kosola scored in the 70th minute to earn a 1-0 win over Iceland in the opening game of the Women’s European Championship.

Yesterday, the Netherlands triumphed 3-0 over Wales and France defeated England 2-1. Today, it’s the first day of Matchday 2. Norway and Finland won last time around on the same goal difference and now face off.

The group stage at the Women's Euro 2025 has started in earnest, and we will soon begin to find out the first nations through to the quarterfinals.
