The Israel-Iran conflict has intensified as both nations launched missile strikes at each other, with Iran targeting Tel Aviv and Haifa, resulting in civilian casualties and infrastructure damage, and Israel retaliating by striking military and nuclear facilities in Iran.
Several buildings in Israel’s Weizmann Institute of Science, one of the country’s top research centers, were damaged in an Iranian strike but there were no casualties, its management told its community members.
It follows daytime attacks from both sides, with Israeli strikes in Tehran continuing and Iran firing more missiles towards Israel.
CNN's Scott Jennings remains, however, as IDF issues evacuation warnings to Tehran and both sides claim casualties and injuries in the hundreds.
Civilian casualties are climbing as Iran and Israel continue to lob airstrikes at each other. The bombings killed top Iranian leaders and left hundreds dead. The U.S. does not support Israel's attacks but Israel still has a military edge on Iran.
Many of those confirmed dead were women and children, according to the authorities, although they have yet to publicly name all of the victims.
Missiles and projectiles were seen in the skies over Jerusalem and Tel Aviv early on Sunday as Tehran unleashed a fresh attack on Israel which in turn launched an expanded assault on Iran.
