Jason Kidd said prior to tipoff in Phoenix that center Dereck Lively II will be out Friday with a left hip contusion. Lively has played in 25 of the Mavericks’ 30 games this season, having missed a four-game stretch earlier this season with a shoulder sprain.

The Dallas Mavericks will play the Phoenix Suns on Friday night in a road clash. Luka Doncic has already been ruled out for the game, as the Mavs are expected to be without the star for at least the next month.
