In May, 89% of all iPhones made in India were shipped to the U.S., up sharply from 58% a year earlier — a clear reflection of Apple’s strategy to bypass steep U.S. tariffs on Chinese-made products

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has reportedly increased its iPhone shipments from India to the U.S. in the past few months, as the tech giant moves to protect its U.S. sales from the impact of escalating tariffs on China-made goods.

Apple’s contract manufacturers in India exported over 20.4 million iPhones from January to May 2025, a steep 57% jump from the same 5-month period in 2024.
