After tearing up Triple-A pitching for a few weeks, catcher Francisco Alvarez was recalled Monday by the New York Mets and immediately reinserted into the starting lineup.

Brett Baty, Francisco Alvarez and Ronny Mauricio – hitting seventh, eighth and ninth, respectively – came through with clutch two-out hits in a three-run fifth where the Mets took the lead and never looked back en route to a 3-2 win in front of an announced sell-out crowd of 43,055 at Citi Field.
