Tampa Bay Lightning star Nikita Kucherov is facing potential supplementary discipline after delivering a dangerous knee-on-knee hit to Florida Panthers forward Matthew Tkachuk.

On Monday night during a tense matchup with the Tampa Bay Lightning, All-Star winger Matthew Tkachuk was injured and needed to be helped off the ice. The play came with 3:09 left in the first period and the Lightning up 3–0.

Nikita Kucherov's game ended early on Monday night in Sunrise, as the Lightning and Panthers completed the second of their back-to-back games. The Tampa Bay Lightning forward received a five-minute major penalty and a game misconduct for a knee hit on Florida Panthers' forward, Matthew Tkachuk in the first period.
