CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Katherine Legge will become the first woman in a NASCAR Cup Series race since Danica Patrick in 2018 when the veteran makes her debut Sunday at Phoenix Raceway.

Katherine Legge, a 44-year-old Brit with experience in the Xfinity Series as well as in open-wheel racing and other formats, will get a start this week at Phoenix Raceway.

Katherine Legge will be making her NASCAR Cup Series debut this weekend at the Shriners Children's 500 at Phoenix Raceway. This marks the first time a female driver has started a race in the Cup Series since Danica Patrick competed in 2018.
