The jackpot for Saturday’s Powerball drawing rose to $268 million after no one won the big prize on Wednesday. If someone matches all six numbers, they can choose a one-time cash payment of $117.

The lottery jackpot was an estimated $263 million with a cash option of $115.3 million for Saturday night's drawing, according to the Powerball website. The jackpot was last won on Dec. 7 when a New York lottery player won a $256 million Powerball jackpot.

The odds of hitting the Powerball jackpot are 292,201,388 to 1. A player who buys a $2 ticket has about a 1 in 11,688,053 chance to match five numbers and win at least $1 million, while the odds are 913,129 to 1 to win a third prize of at least $50,000.
