India's leading production house, Lyca Productions has released its much awaited movie 'Vettaiyan' bringing together legends Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan.

After 'Thalapathy' Vijay's The Greatest of All Time (GOAT) which hit theatres in September, the newly released TJ Gnanavel directorial Vettaiyan has resulted in fireworks at the box office. The Tamil action drama starring 'Thalaivar' Rajinikanth and 'Big B' Amitabh Bachchan has become the second biggest opener of the year in Kollywood.

Rajinikanth's return to screen after Jailer has minted Rs 30 cr all-India nett, despite mixed reviews. Directed by TJ Gnanavel, the film also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Fahadh Faasil.

Vettaiyan, directed by T. J. Gnanavel and produced by Lyca Productions, features Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan in a star-studded Tamil action drama. Released on October 10, 2024, the film grossed ₹20.

The film, directed by T. J. Gnanavel, and starring Amitabh Bachchan, Manju Warrier, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati and Dushara Vijayan, delivers the second biggest Tamil cinema opening in 2024, trailing behind Vijay’s ‘G.

On its opening day, Vettaiyan grossed around ₹30 crore, with Tamil earnings at ₹26.15 crore. The film features Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan, and fans celebrated its release with fervor across various cities in Tamil Nadu.
