Just as the Golden State Warriors were ready to hand revenge on a giant platter to the Kings on Wednesday night, DeMar DeRozan knocked it out of their hands and ignited Sacramento’s 123-117 comeback win at Golden 1 Center.
The Kings trapped the ball out of Steph Curry’s hands all night — often at halfcourt — and he responded by dishing a season-high 12 assists. Andrew Wiggins poured in 25 and Gui Santos (16 points) provided a major lift off the bench. But DeMar DeRozan (32 points, 24 in the second half) was too much for the short-handed Warriors to overcome.
DeRozan scored 17 points in the third quarter as the Kings outscored the Warriors 37-20 to tie the game. Sacramento shot 57.7% from the field while holding Golden State to 40%. The Kings forced eight turnovers in the third, resulting in a 13-0 advantage in points off turnovers.
