The New York Islanders recently debuted controversial blue liner Tony DeAngelo, and now he's opened up on his return to the NHL after a stint in the KHL in Russia.

Montreal Canadiens' prospect Ivan Demidov is having a great season in the KHL and since teammate Tony DeAngelo has gone back to the USA, he'll replace him at the All-Star game.

The New York Islanders made another addition to their blue line Monday, acquiring defenseman Scott Perunovich from the St. Louis Blues in exchange for a conditional fifth-round pick in the 2026 draft.

It was DeAngelo's first point in two games since joining the Islanders following a KHL stint, and while the Isles didn't get a power-play opportunity Tuesday, he should see a heavy workload with the man advantage as long as Noah Dobson (lower body) and Ryan Pulock (upper body) are on the shelf.

Tony DeAngelo may have been signed to fill the Noah Dobson void, but his game is more similar to the injured Mike Reilly.
