Ethel, who witnessed the murder and was pregnant with Rory at the time, mourned the loss of her husband at his funeral on June 8. She then established the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights — now known as Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights — to advocate for social justice domestically and internationally.
