People are voicing concerns after a senator was detained while asking questions about Donald Trump's ICE raids. Civil unrest erupted in Los Angeles over the past week in the wake of arrests made by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in areas with significant Latino populations.

In a region that is nearly 50% Latino, Los Angeles has long been a stage for what happens when marginalized communities push back.

Leading Democrats are downplaying concerns over potential political fallout to forcefully challenge President Trump’s intervention in Los Angeles protests over his administration’s immigration raids.
