A Las Vegas man who was arrested over the weekend with guns at a security checkpoint outside a Donald Trump rally in California is suing the sheriff and his department for defamation.

Suspect Vem Miller says the sheriff intentionally lied to boost his reputation after he told reporters they “probably” stopped a third assassination attempt on Trump.

Deputies assigned to former President Donald Trump's rally in California's Coachella Valley arrested a Las Vegas man on Saturday at a checkpoint for allegedly having a loaded firearm, a shotgun and a high-capacity magazine.
