Government agencies have been ordered to prepare for extensive layoffs as part of the ongoing initiative by President Trump and Elon Musk to slash the federal workforce.

The Trump administration on Wednesday ordered all federal departments and agencies to submit reorganization plans outlining how they would implement large-scale layoffs before March 13.

BOULDER, Colorado (Reuters) -Over 1,000 protesters gathered outside a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration building in Boulder, Colorado, on Monday, decrying Trump administration layoffs of what two current employees said were upward of 10% of scientists there.

The gathering, sparked by mass layoffs at the agency, was also used to protest other Trump administration moves.
