Light snow is expected to arrive in our area between 9 a.m. and noon on Friday. The snowfall becomes heavy Friday afternoon, spreading east and the roads start to become hazardous. Heavy snow begins to mix in with ice Friday afternoon in the southern part of the area and moves north.

With cold air in place in advance of the storm, this increases the potential for some parts of north Georgia to see a mixture of rain and wintry weather.
