The trial of Richard Allen for the Delphi murders resumed Wednesday with testimony from an eyewitness, a forensic pathologist and a police technician.

The teens, who were in eighth-grade at Delphi Community Middle School, were hiking on a day off from school on February 13, 2017, near the Monon High Bridge, an abandoned rail bridge along the 10-mile Delphi Historic Trail, Indiana State Police said. Hours later, they failed to meet Libby’s dad at a previously arranged time, police said.

Three witnesses who were on the Monon High Bridge trail the day Libby and Abby were killed, including one who said she was best friends with Libby's older sister, testified Tuesday that a man they saw on the trail is "Bridge Guy" — the primary suspect depicted in a grainy photo police later shared to aid their investigation.

Day 7 of the Delphi murders trial provided new testimony on bullet analysis. In a game featuring the top two finishers in 2023-24 MVP voting, it was Holmgren who often looked like the best player on the floor.
