STATE COLLEGE | No. 1 Penn State once again asserted its dominion over college wrestling, head-locking No. 2 Iowa 30-8 at the Bryce Jordan Center on Friday in a match that cemented the Nittany Lions atop the sport's hierarchy. Penn State wrestling won eight of 10 bouts, losing one with a missing starter, and dominated some of Iowa's top wrestlers.

FIRST PERIOD: Penn State's returning national champion Greg Kerkvliet picks up the first takedown of the match to earn a 3-0 with over two minutes to go in the period. He notches another takedown to end the period with a 6-1 lead in short time and asserts his dominance at the start of this final match.

The indomitable Tyler Kasak from Doylestown, Pa. took it upon himself here Friday night to not just conquer his match but symbolize this latest runaway, marquee victory − a 30-8 final count for the No. 1 Nittany Lions over what's billed as the second-best team around, the Iowa Hawkeyes.

The No. 1 Nittany Lions overwhelmed the second-ranked Hawkeyes before an energized, sold-out crowd at the Bryce Jordan Center.

Cael Sanderson’s top-ranked wrestling team made quick work of No. 2 Iowa last Friday night in State College, winning 30-8 before a sellout crowd. Obviously, PSU remains No. 1 in the updated InterMat team rankings.
