Las Vegas really can’t stop opening food halls. The Venetian Resort is the latest Strip casino to get in on the action — opening a new food hall with big names next year.

By the 1970s, federal authorities investigating mobsters in Kansas City charged more than a dozen operatives with conspiring to skim $2 million in gambling revenue from Las Vegas casinos, including the Tropicana. Charges connected to the Tropicana alone resulted in five convictions.

An historic Las Vegas casino’s run came to an end in the early morning hours Wednesday as the Tropicana was imploded. Sin City has seen numerous casino implosions through the years and the demolition of the Trop attracted numerous onlookers as hotel rooms price surged in the days before the casino came down.

After 67 years, the famous hotel closed its doors for good in April. On Wednesday, it was given a wild farewell party, with fireworks and a drone show. After the buildings came down, the drone show lit up the skies with a display that said “A’s” in the team’s color green.

The legendary Tropicana casino and hotel was reduced to a pile of rubble on the Las Vegas Strip. The Tropicana opened in 1957. In its heyday, it was home to the Rat Pack. In 2000 Inside Edition's Stacy Gualandi danced with the Tropicana showgirls.

A new neighborhood tavern got a warm welcome to North Las Vegas on Thursday as Seventy Six by Station Casinos celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
