They’re one of five NFC teams with two wins, and a win over the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday night would put them atop the NFC West and into the No. 4 seed in the standings. That fact is why there’s no reason to hit the panic button just yet.

The Falcons will end another week on top of the division after defeating a third consecutive NFC South opponent in Week 6. This time, it was a 38-20 road win over the Carolina Panthers, who fell to 1-5 on the season.

The Cardinals pulled within a game of the division lead with a win over the Niners, as the Seahawks and Rams also lost.

The Saints kick off Week 7 on Thursday night against the Jaguars while the Falcons and Bucs meet in Tampa with first place in the division on the line. The Panthers (0-6) are on their bye, putting the focus on the top three teams in the NFC South this weekend.

Despite hot starts by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New Orleans Saints, the Atlanta Falcons now lead the NFC South five weeks into the 2024 NFL season. The Falcons have the same record as the Buccaneers but are 2-0 in the division with head-to-head tie-breakers over both teams.
