New York Gov. Kathy Hochul is threatening to deploy National Guard troops to restore order as a strike among prison guards across the state entered its second day.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul says she is preparing to deploy the New York National Guard following a work stoppage by corrections officers at multiple state prisons across the state, including in Western New York.

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul announced on Tuesday preparations to use the New York National Guard to protect correction officers who are currently on the job, inmates, and the communities surrounding the correctional facilities.
