Stage 3 of GRAP has been revoked in Delhi-NCR by Commission for Air Quality Management. Meanwhile, the commission said measures under stages 1 and 2 of Graded Response Action Plan will remain effective to manage pollution levels.

The Commission for Air Quality Management said that the air quality index in the national capital was expected to remain ‘poor’ over the next few days.

The AQI of Delhi has been continuously improving on Friday as it recorded 348 at 5 pm, 341 at 6 pm and 334 at 7 pm. According to Central Pollution Control Board the AQI in Delhi was recorded at 388 around 9 pm on December 27 which falls in the 'Very Poor' category.

According to forecasts from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) and the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology, the air quality situation is predicted to improve further owing to favourable meteorological conditions.

This decision follows continuous rainfall, which has helped bring down pollution levels, according to an official statement issued on Friday.

The anti-pollution restrictions under Stage 3 of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) were revoked on Friday (27 December) in the Delhi-NCR region. This decision came as the region experienced a significant improvement in air quality due to widespread rainfall.

The Commission for Air Quality Management, responsible for air pollution mitigation in Delhi-NCR, stated that restrictions under Stage 1 and Stage 2 will remain in place.

Measures under stages 1 and 2 will remain in force to manage pollution levels.
