The Maruti Suzuki eVitara is expected to roll out of the automaker’s Gujarat plant for India and global markets

Maruti Suzuki India on Friday unveiled its first battery electric vehicle eVITARA, which will be exported to over 100 countries

On the Day 1 of the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, Maruti Suzuki showcased its first EV – eVitara, built on the Heartect-e platform. However, the company has not revealed the prices and will share it “very soon”.

India will be the production hub for EVs for Suzuki’s global markets and nearly 50% of its production will be exported to Japan and Europe.

Maruti Suzuki has unveiled the e-Vitara an all-electric SUV that offers impressive performance and advanced features, with two high-capacity battery options of 49kWh and 61kWh, providing a driving range of over 500 km on a single charge.

Vitara, designed on a new HEARTECT-e platform. The vehicle features two battery options, a dual-tone interior, and advanced safety features. It will be available in Spring 2025, priced between ₹17 lakh to ₹26 lakh.

The EV features eAxles, which integrate the motor and inverter into a single unit. The e Vitara will be offered with two battery options – 49kWh and 61kWh. The batteries use LFP (Lithium Iron-phosphate) ‘blade’ cells sourced by BYD and the larger 61kWh has a claimed range of over 500 km on one full charge.

Vitara, making a debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in New Delhi. The SUV will be manufactured in Gujarat, with exports planned to Japan and Europe. The e-Vitara features advanced technology and a focus on sustainable mobility.

Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara is the first electric SUV of the brand in the Indian market and competes against the likes of Hyundai Creta Electric.
