The Swedish navy has recovered the anchor of an oil tanker suspected of damaging four Baltic Sea telecom cables and one power cable on Christmas Day.

The Swedish Navy's special vessel HMS Belos arrived in the Gulf of Finland on Sunday afternoon to take part in the investigation into the damage to communication cables between Estonia and Finland.

The anchor of the Eagle S oil tanker has been recovered from the bed of the Baltic Sea during an inquiry into the ship's possible involvement in sabotage of maritime energy and communication cables. The EU says the tanker belongs to the so-called Russian shadow fleet.
