Marshals said the man, who fit Travis Decker's description, was surprised to be targeted by officials in Idaho as a potentially wanted man.

Decker may have been initially traveling on the Pacific Crest Trail, officials said. In mid-June, investigators said they believed they spotted Decker as a lone hiker in the Enchantments, a mountainous hiking area in Leavenworth, Washington.

The search for Travis Decker in Idaho ended after authorities confirmed that a man seen by multiple witnesses was not Decker.
